Hat Mittens and Scarf

There are now 3 knitting patterns to use with our Shetland wool yarn, a hat, mittens and scarf (though the patterns could also be used with any double knitting weight yarn). They are free to download from Ravelry.

Simple Mittens is written for 3 sizes: small, medium and large. They are worked in the round with a rib cuff. As the name suggests they're simple in design, quick to knit and practical to wear. Click here for download.

Stellar was originally designed for Travelling Yarns Artisan Yarn. I made a sample in our black and grey  Shetland yarn and thought it worked quite well. This beanie style hat is knit in the round with a colour work design of triangles and intersecting lines. The pattern is free to download from Ravelry.

Birch Trees is the first pattern I designed specifically for our Shetland DK yarn. It's knitted on straight needles and has branching pattern repeats with a moss stitch border. It can be downloaded free from Ravelry. This is proving quite popular, published in April 2014, last time I checked it had been downloaded over 1400 times.

    Cheers, Gail.
PS I see a photo shoot featuring a Shetland sweater wearing Bertie sat in a bicycle basket with a Loch Torridon backdrop, some time in the new year!
