'Mulberry' is a two tone fingerless mitten knitted in aran weight
yarn. The cable wristband is knitted
first on straight needles in a contrast colour. The main hand section is
knitted in the round. Moss stitch border decorates the edges.
The pattern is available as an instant digital download from Ravelry and my online shop.
The yarn I used is Rowan Felted Tweed Aran weight and the name Mulberry was inspired by the colours of the yarn.
Needles: 6.5mm (US 10 ½ ) straight
knitting needles and a set of 4.5mm (US 7) double pointed needles (dpn’s).
Notions: cable needle, tapestry needle,
scraps of yarn for markers and for holding thumb stitches.
Size: 17cm (6 ½ ins) long to fit
women’s medium hand.
Gauge: 20
stitches over 30 rows = 10cm/4ins
Skills: knit, purl, basic cable, cast
on, cast off, pick up stitches, knitting in the round, make a stitch.
Love the pattern and the colour x Jane
ReplyDeleteLovely colours and textures in those gloves.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Gail.
PS This very evening, I've been working hard converting your shetland yarn into a 'Nordic snowflake beanie' for myself (pattern downloaded from Ravelry). The yarn knits up to a beautiful texture. I just now need to buy some double pointed needles to finish the hat).
Many thanks Jane...
ReplyDeleteThank you Gail.
ReplyDeleteJust had a look on Ravelry at the Nordic Snowflake beanie, it looks a great hat to knit, hope you have enough Shetland yarn. Looking forward to seeing it...
Brilliant mitts! The yarn is a stunning rich color.
ReplyDeleteThank you Andi, this time my camera managed to capture the colours just right.
